Buchanan’s Symposium on Multi-Family Housing held on Thursday, May 9, was mentioned in a Pittsburgh Business Times article. With approximately 80 guests in attendance, the panel discussion included Christine Young Gertz, the government affairs director of the Apartment Association of Pennsylvania; Lucas Piatt, president and COO of Millcraft Investments, owner and developer of downtown Pittsburgh residential buildings; John Gaghan, vice president of Los Angeles-based Lowe Enterprises Investors; Dan Cunningham, senior vice president with PNC Real Estate; and Cindy Kamin, a senior vice president with CBRE who specializes in multi-family housing.

Young Gertz cited industry research indicating the country needs to “add 300,000 to 400,000 apartments every year for the next few years to keep up with pent-up demand.”

‘It’s a trillion-dollar industry nationwide and worth $29 billion in the state of Pennsylvania,’ she added.
