On Monday, June 29, 2009, Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney will host a breakfast briefing on the Pennsylvania Home Improvement Consumer Protection Act (HICPA). Deputy Attorney General for the Bureau of Consumer Protection Amy Schulman will present "Tips on Complying with Pennsylvania's Home Improvement Consumer Protection Act" in the firm's Pittsburgh office.

The presentation will explore the implications of this new law, which goes into effect on July 1, 2009, and requires certain changes in consumer contracts, as well as mandatory registration for contractors who offer or perform home improvements in Pennsylvania.

A continental breakfast will be served at 8 a.m., followed by the presentation at 8:30. In addition to the Pittsburgh presentation, a videoconference will air simultaneously in the firm's Philadelphia and Harrisburg offices.
