Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney Hires Notable Philadelphia Tax Attorney Richard L. Fox
“Richard’s reputation and experience in tax matters related to nonprofits, private foundations and estates is exceptional and we couldn’t be more pleased to have him at Buchanan,” said Bruce Booken, chair of Buchanan’s tax section. “Given the concentration of charitable entities and philanthropic endeavors in the greater Philadelphia region, Richard’s niche concentration is a great fit for our strong tax practice.”
Before joining Buchanan, Fox was a tax partner at Dilworth Paxon LLP, a Philadelphia-based law firm, where he was the head of its philanthropic and nonprofit practice group. He is a Fellow at the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel, is a member of the probate and trust and tax sections of the Philadelphia Bar Association and is a member of the board of trustees of the Community College of Philadelphia Foundation.
Fox is a frequent speaker and author on topics related to estate planning, philanthropy and tax-exempt entities. He is also the author of the treatise, Charitable Giving; Taxation, Planning and Strategies and writes a national bulletin on philanthropy and nonprofit issues. Fox earned a J.D. from the Temple University James E. Beasley School of Law and an LL.M in taxation from the New York University School of Law.
