San Diego, CA, February 14, 2011 — Litigation attorney Robert J. Parks recently joined the San Diego office of Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney as shareholder. Their arrival increases Buchanan's Litigation practice to nearly 140 attorneys. The firm has more than 400 attorneys total.

Prior to joining Buchanan, Parks practiced at the San Diego and Temecula law firm Parks & Oberhansley, PLC where he was a founding shareholder. The addition of Parks reflects Buchanan's commitment to growth in the Southern California market.

About Parks
Parks brings 30 years of complex civil litigation experience in a broad range of practice areas including bankruptcy, debtor/creditor, receivership proceedings, fraudulent conveyance, real estate, construction, automobile dealership, shopping center, landlord tenant and business litigation, commercial law, agricultural law, environmental law, water and mineral law and high net-worth family law.

He has primarily represented clients across the Southern California region, including San Diego, Riverside, San Bernardino, Imperial, Orange, Los Angeles, Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties. Parks has also represented clients in Central and Northern California and state and federal courts in other jurisdictions, including Arizona, Nevada, Colorado, Nebraska, Iowa, South Dakota, Illinois, New Jersey and New York. Parks has represented clients at the state and federal appellate court levels including bankruptcy appellate proceedings.

Parks has a number of reported cases including the landmark Marriage of Duncan case on business valuations in California matrimonial cases. He has also successfully represented clients in various state and federal tax appeal matters. Parks has significant experience in arbitration proceedings including numerous proceedings before the American Arbitration Association and has handled countless mediation proceedings to successful conclusion.

Parks received his B.S. from Northern Illinois University with a double major in finance and business management. He received his J.D. with honors from the University of Wisconsin where he concentrated on taxation and commercial law. He is a member of both the California and San Diego County Bar Associations. He is admitted to practice in all California state courts and the U.S. District Court, Southern, Central and Northern Districts of California.
