With a background in both chemistry and biotechnology, Brennen is adept at drafting and prosecuting patent applications in a wide array of technical areas, including small molecule chemistry, agricultural chemistry, pharmaceuticals, nutraceuticals, food additives, and synthesis of nucleic acid and polypeptide molecules.
Understanding the risks of bringing new products to markets, Brennen assists clients in ensuring freedom-to-operate through exhaustive patent searches and detailed legal opinions regarding infringement and validity of existing patents.

Outside the Office
Brennen grew up in the Washington, D.C. metro area and is a diehard fan of the Washington Capitals and Nationals. In his free time, he is an avid cook, frequently experimenting with new recipes (to generally successful results). He is also a long-time guitarist and loves attending live music and comedy shows.
