How Blake Helps Clients
A registered patent attorney and an electrical engineer, Blake combines a background in hardware and software development with intellectual property law skills to provide a unique business and engineering perspective in product design, business development and patent prosecution.
Blake provides patent prosecution and portfolio management for various Fortune 50 and mid-sized businesses in the civil industry and for government contractors, working with inventors and business management professionals, in-house counsel and CEOs. Blake's clients work in a variety of technical fields such as aerospace, computer hardware and software, digital and analog circuits, biomedical electronics, mechanical technology, networks, semiconductors, microprocessors, wireless technology, electrical materials, optics, cyber security, and additive manufacturing.
Before joining the team, Blake was an associate at the world’s largest law firm. As an electrical engineer, Blake worked in both the civil industry and for government contractors.
What Clients Can Expect
Blake works with clients to fit the pieces of their intellectual property portfolio together with larger business decisions. You can expect Blake to take a down-to-earth approach to complex technical and legal issues. Through good communication, construction of a clear vision, and precise execution, goals are reached and value is added.
Navigating implementation of strong intellectual property protection can be complex so I work with clients to develop a customized approach. In other words, together we plan the work and then work the plan.
Outside the Office
Blake serves the community through his church, as a city council member, as a mentor to the local high school robotics club, as a member of Mensa, as a CrossFit coach, and as a reserve officer in the United States Navy. Blake, his wife and son enjoy the outdoors and traveling. Blake’s latest passion is passing on his scratch level golfing skills and horse riding and roping heritage to his 5-year-old son and second son expected in May.
