Lafe Metz is the chair of Buchanan’s Real Estate Practice Group. He focuses his practice on commercial real estate transactions, finance, land use, development and leasing, with emphasis on tax-advantaged transactions, incentives and financing. Lafe also devotes significant time to representing property owners in real estate tax assessment and exemption matters and other federal, state and local tax litigation.
In 2017, Lafe was elected as a fellow to the American College of Real Estate Lawyers (ACREL), a premier organization of U.S. real estate lawyers into which one is admitted only by invitation after a rigorous screening process. Lafe has been selected for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America® (Real Estate Law) list consecutively since 2014, the Pennsylvania Super Lawyers list in 2018 and 2017, and is recognized as an AV® rated attorney by Martindale-Hubbell® peer review. He has also been selected for inclusion in Chambers USA: America's Leading Lawyers for Business.
