How Andrew Helps Clients

Andrew concentrates his practice on professional liability matters, and specifically focuses on the representation of medical professionals and long-term care facilities. Andrew also has experience in premises liability and representing physicians in state disciplinary proceedings.

What Clients Can Expect

Andrew's clients can expect a passionate commitment to their defense through all stages of the litigation process. Clients can expect Andrew to be available to them to answer questions, alleviate concerns and ensure that their legal interests are protected. Clients can also be sure that Andrew understands first-hand both the difficulty and importance of the work they do on a daily basis, and incorporate that into his practice - Andrew's fiancé is a neo-natal nurse.

Our clients need us to guide them through the legal process, and provide a zealous representation, so that they can maintain their focus on what is most important - providing outstanding care to their patients.

Outside the Office

Andrew is an avid golfer and runner, and also enjoys road cycling. During the fall, Andrew can be found at most Penn State home football games with his wife, Emily.

Proof Points

  • Successfully obtained dismissal of his client via Motion for Summary Judgment on the issue of ostensible agency in a complex medical malpractice action.
  • Researched and located an obscure standard of care that pertained to bariatric and weight loss surgery centers, which resulted in a favorable settlement for his client.

Additional Experience

Prior to joining Buchanan, Andrew served as an associate at a boutique Philadelphia area law firm, where his practice focused on the defense of physicians, hospitals and other healthcare providers in professional liability litigation, often involving complex medical and legal issues and catastrophic injuries.

In law school, Andrew served as a Research Assistant to Professor Penelope Pether, where his research focused on standard of proof for racial discrimination in higher education. Andrew also served as judicial extern for the Honorable Denis Cohen, Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas, where he analyzed Violation of Parole notices and PCRA petitions, and drafted memoranda on evidentiary, sentencing and appellate matters.

During the summer of 2014, Andrew clerked for a large Bucks County law firm, where he gained experience in a variety of areas, including insurance defense litigation, FINRA banking regulations, and nonprofit law.
