How Amanda Helps Clients

Amanda is a litigation associate in the firm’s Fort Lauderdale office.  She focuses her practice in commercial litigation and has represented clients in state and federal courts at all stages of litigation including initial fact investigation and case strategy, discovery development, dispositive motions, trial, and other pre- and post-trial aspects. 

After completing her undergraduate education at Georgetown University, Amanda began her legal career in 2008 as a paralegal assisting Fortune 500 companies on various biopharmaceutical patent litigation, employment litigation, and antitrust litigation matters.

Amanda was a member of Buchanan’s 2016 Summer Associate Program.  Prior to joining Buchanan, she was a summer legal intern at NextEra Energy, Inc. in the Office of the Corporate Secretary where she researched and analyzed a wide array of corporate governance issues.

Amanda received her law degree, cum laude, from the University of Miami School of Law.  She served as an Articles & Comments Editor for the University of Miami Business Law Review and her Comment, A Faulty Federal Standard: A Call for a Federal Minimum Wage That is Actually “Fair” Under the Fair Labor Standards Act, was selected and published.  She was also a member of the Charles C. Papy, Jr. Moot Court Board.

Outside the Office

Amanda was raised in the Pacific Northwest and has lived on the East Coast since 2004. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, reading, cooking, and listening to music or podcasts.  More than anything, she enjoys spending time with loved ones and her cat, Bourbon.

Committed to giving back and serving her community, Amanda is passionate about increasing awareness about sexual violence through victim advocacy and public policy as a member of RAINN’s Speakers Bureau. She also serves as an undergraduate admissions interviewer for her alma mater, Georgetown University.
