Ft. Lauderdale / Miami, Fla. – April 29, 2015 – Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney is honored to announce that five of its Florida attorneys – Co-managing Shareholder of the firm’s Fort Lauderdale office Adele I. Stone, Matthew J. Feeley, Jose Rafael Florez, Kimberly A. Gessner and Jennifer Olmedo-Rodriguez – have been appointed to serve on committees of The Florida Bar effective July 1, 2015. These committees act as the backbone of The Florida Bar and are integral in the overall operation of the association.

Stone
, who is Board Certified in Real Estate by the Florida Bar, has been appointed as chairperson to the Commercial Real Estate Committee of the Real Property Probate and Trust Law Section. The Section serves the legal community and its Section members with education and knowledge of real property, probate and trust law, and serves the members of The Florida Bar by facilitating professional needs and objectives in the fields of real property, probate and trust law.

Feeley
, who focuses his law practice on commercial litigation out of the firm’s Miami office, will serve on the Committee On Professionalism (2015 – 2018). He will join this committee in its efforts to assist the Florida Bar Center Commission in upholding the highest level of integrity in the profession and will work to make recommendations to the Board of Governors regarding significant matters pertaining to the headquarters office and implementing programs, events and activities to promote professionalism throughout the state.

Florez
, who concentrates his practice on business disputes, contract disputes, intellectual property litigation and probate litigation in federal and state courts out of the firm’s Fort Lauderdale office, was appointed to the Rules of Judicial Administration Committee (2015 – 2018). Florez will assist the committee in originating proposed new rules, and reviewing and re-evaluating existing rules of procedure to advance orderly and inexpensive procedures in the administration of justice.

Gessner
, who is Board Certified in Construction Law and works out of the firm’s Ft. Lauderdale office, has been re-appointed to the Annual Convention Committee (2015-2016), where she will for the third consecutive year assist the president in the planning and coordination of the June Florida Bar Annual Convention. In addition, she was re-appointed to serve on the Construction Law Certification Committee (2015-2016) for the third year in a row, where she will assist in writing, administering and grading qualification exams for the certification, the highest level of evaluation by the Florida Bar of competency and experience within an area of law, professionalism and ethics in practice.

Olmedo-Rodriguez was selected to serve on the Appellate Court Rules Committee (2015 – 2018), where with her experience in the industry, she will help carry out mandates concerning the proposal of new rules of procedure and changes to existing rules. She focuses her law practice on commercial litigation and civil appellate litigation out of the firm’s Miami office.
