The 2015 Fundamentals of Municipal Bond Law Seminar Chairman of the Conference

Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney Public Finance Shareholder David J. Fernandez recently served as the chairman of the National Association of Bond Lawyers' Fundamentals of Municipal Bond Law Seminar.

"Well, it is hard to believe, but this year's Fundamentals Seminar has come and gone. Over 240 participants from around the country converged on Orlando for three amazing days. The participants were provided with outstanding faculty members from firms throughout the country who brought the basics of our practice to life," David told the NABL's monthly newsletter.

The seminar offered three basic training general sessions, each which to provided attendees with a strong understanding of the key components of a municipal bond practice. First, the Basic Structuring and Financial Aspects of a Municipal Bond Transaction session provided attendees with a solid foundation of practical skills and techniques needed to understand the basic structural elements, documents and financial aspects of a municipal bond transaction. Second, the General Securities Law session provided an overview of the applicable federal securities laws with which every municipal bond practitioner should be familiar. Third, the two-part General Tax Law session provided an in-depth explanation of the federal tax laws applicable to municipal bonds.
