Edward Grattan, Staff Attorney in Buchanan's Corporate Section, spoke on a panel at an event called "Startup Legal 101: Advice from Top Startup Lawyers." The panel discussed key things to know when starting a company, including: What is the most appropriate type of company to start? How do you deal with cofounders, initial team members and employees? What agreements should you have in place when you start, and what pitfalls should you avoid?
The event was held at TrueFit, a Pittsburgh-based software company spearheading the formation of a local Founder Institute chapter. The Founder Institute is the world's premier idea-stage accelerator and startup launch program. The Pittsburgh chapter is slated to begin its first program in April.
