Alexandria – March 10, 2015 – Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney has chosen Shawn B. Cage to join the 2015 Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD) class of Fellows. He will participate in a landmark program to identify, train and advance the next generation of leaders in the legal profession.

The LCLD Fellows Program offers participants “an extraordinarily rich year of relationship-building, virtual and in-person training, peer-group projects, and extensive contact with LCLD’s top leadership,” said LCLD President Robert J. Grey, Jr.

Cage, counsel in the firm’s Intellectual Property section and co-leader of its Electrical Practice Group, focuses his practice on client counseling and the preparation and prosecution of trademark and patent applications before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). He also has experience in drafting patentability and infringement opinions. He is a Registered Patent Agent and is licensed to practice in Maryland, as well as before the USPTO. He earned his law degree from Georgetown University Law Center and his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Southern University and A&M College.

Founded in 2009, LCLD is a growing organization of more than 220 corporate chief legal officers and law firm managing partners who are personally committed to creating a truly diverse legal profession.
