H. Marc Tepper, Chairman of Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney’s Insurance and Reinsurance practice, was recently featured in a Q&A article in Law360.

In the article, Tepper discusses the current hot topic in insurance and reinsurance, which is mandatory flood insurance, particularly for the northeastern shores.

“Between FEMA reform, streamlining the insurance payment process to flood victims and new insurance disclosures for homeowners, the next wave of flood claims should be swifter with far fewer claimants unsure about the insurance claim process,” explains Tepper.

Tepper also describes his experience in working with attorneys from the U.S. Virgin Islands.

“I have had the pleasure of working side by side with a number of astute attorneys from the U.S. Department of Justice in the United States Virgin Islands over the past 15 years. Following the devastation of Hurricane Marilyn in the Virgin Islands back in the mid 1990s, I worked with many great attorneys from the Virgin Islands, and together, we put in place the legal mechanisms which allowed the territory to begin the process of rebuilding the then-devastated infrastructure.

Since then, I have had the great pleasure to work with a number of distinguished counsel and judges, all of whom care deeply for the plight of the Virgin Island residents.”
