Lynn J. Alstadt will speak at this seminar, presented by the Pennsylvania Bar Institute. Alstadt is a shareholder and member of Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney's Intellectual Property Section.

This institute has something for everyone, from the novice to the expert. Attendees will learn from speakers who are at the forefront of intellectual property law as they present an in-depth look at issues that can have a big impact on business.

Alstadt will speak at two program sessions. The first, titled "IP and Ethics," will address ethical issues that arise in the practice of intellectual property including conflicts of interest, attorney competence and recent cases involving lawyer conduct. The second, titled "Board of Patent Appeals," will cover practice and procedure before the Board of Patent Appeals and Interferences including a status report on board activity and tips for preparing briefs and oral arguments in Ex Parte appeals.
