The U.S. Energy Information Administration forecasts that renewable energy will be the fastest-growing power source through 2040. Investments in renewables are rising exponentially. For example, tax equity deals, primarily for wind and solar projects, are in the double-digit billions and growing every year. We are proud to play an important role in the dramatic growth of renewable energy.

  • Securedthe largest one time grant (worth in excess of $6 million)within the Commonwealth Financing Authority's Wind / Geothermal program and assisted a developer of utility grade wind projects in obtaining necessary approval from the Department of Environmental Protection and other state agencies.
  • Represented one of the top 10 wind power operators in the world in a $285 million financing of three wind farms located in Pennsylvania and Texas.
  • Represented clients in the development and financing of major Pennsylvania wind farm projects.
  • Represented clients in obtaining favorable settlements with incumbent utilities to enhance the provision of competitive electric service.
  • Represented clients in natural gas regulatory proceedings.
  • Provided regulatory consulting to electric, natural gas and water companies regarding a wide range of matters including utility rate and service issues, the implementation of a national energy policy for the competitive retail electric market, mergers and acquisitions, financing and power purchase agreements.
  • Represented several applicants in regulatory proceedings to site major intrastate and interstate electric transmission lines.
  • Represented an unregulated energy generation provider in a major utility rate proceeding.

  • Litigated numerous proceedings before state public utility commissions to achieve client objectives, including the interpretation of tariffs, rules and regulations, increases in rates, and favorable terms and conditions for the provision of competitive electric service.

  • Represented competitive energy suppliers in litigating and negotiating settlements of complex utility rate proceedings before the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission.
