Pittsburgh, PA, May 17, 2012 -- Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney PC announced that the lawyers, paralegal and administrative staff of Manion McDonough & Lucas, P.C. (“MM&L”) have joined Buchanan. The MM&L lawyers are Joseph F. McDonough, Kevin P. Lucas, James G. McLean, Robert D. Finkel, Alexandra P. West and Erin Lucas Hamilton.

Jack Barbour, Buchanan’s CEO, said “Manion McDonough & Lucas has earned a stellar reputation as a go-to law firm for complex and high-profile cases. This is an unparalleled opportunity to add high-caliber and successful lawyers, and we are thrilled to have them become part of the firm.”

The addition of MM&L’s seven litigators brings Buchanan’s Litigation Section headcount to 115, roughly a quarter of its overall size.

“We are excited that our existing and new clients will now benefit from the depth of resources and increased scope of services that Buchanan provides,” stated Joseph McDonough. "Bringing MM&L to a close was not an easy decision, but we were ultimately overwhelmed by Buchanan’s outstanding commitment to client service as well as its internal business philosophy and strategic direction,” he added. “We believe that together the lawyers of MM&L and Buchanan will provide a tremendous platform for client service. Our only regret is that after more than 50 years in practice our esteemed founder Paul A. Manion has decided to limit his work, though he has promised to continue as a trusted source of advice and guidance."

Formed in 1985, MM&L has handled many of the largest and most complex cases filed in Western Pennsylvania, as well as a host of prominent projects in other areas of the United States. Its founding members have conducted trials and argued appeals in virtually every field of litigation and at every level of the judicial system, including the Supreme Court of the United States. Proportional to its size, MM&L received more listings (a total of 10) in the 2012 Edition of Pittsburgh's Best Lawyers than any other firm in the City.
