Matthew H. Meade, co-chair of the firm's Data Security and Privacy Group, will lecture at PLI's Twelfth Annual Privacy and Data Security Law Institute, June 20 in New York City.

Matt will co-lecture the "State Law and Federal Law Privacy Update," which will cover:

  • Key federal privacy and cybersecurity legislative developments in 2011
  • Policy initiatives, including the impact of the FTC-proposed framework for privacy and the Department of Commerce's "Green Paper" on privacy
  • New state laws and regulations on privacy and data security
  • Recent U.S. privacy litigation
  • The National Strategy for Trusted Identities in Cyberspace

The two-day event focuses on critical information privacy, security and data protection issues. Other session topics include how to manage data breaches, international privacy and security trends, emerging rules and regulations and the impact of new industries — including social media and cloud technology — has on the privacy and data security landscape.
