Physician Payments Disclosure & Aggregate Spend

Linda Pissott Reig, a shareholder in Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney's Newark office, will present at the third annual Physician Payments Disclosure & Aggregate Spend conference in New York City on October 17, 2011.

The two-day event, hosted by the American Conference Institute, will feature a faculty of policy and industry leaders who will detail new spend disclosure laws and explain best practices on ensuring compliance and satisfying corporate goals. Reig's lecture will focus on, among other topics:

• Operational compliance with regards to complex requirements in the most intensive regulatory states – What does it mean to "do business" in Massachusetts and Vermont?
• Implementation challenges encountered by manufacturers so far and solutions for overcoming them
• Matching unique identifying information for physicians between varying Massachusetts and federal numbers
• Examining the Vermont sampling legislation: pharmaceutical and device companies for the most stringent sampling reporting requirements yet

She will also discuss what states have learned from the data recieved, how deeply and extensively state reports have been audited and what manufacturers can be doing better.
