On Thursday, May 19th, the Conner Inn of Court will be holding its next meeting entitled, "US Supreme Court Argument in Cuozzo Speed Technologies v. Lee". Phil Hirschhorn will be presenting as the Petitioner for this meeting.

The presentation will be a mock argument to the U.S. Supreme Court in Case 15-446, Cuozzo Speed Technologies, LLC v. Lee. The two issues on appeal are (1) whether, in inter partes review (IPR) proceedings, the Patent Trial and Appeal Board permissibly adopted the “broadest reasonable interpretation” standard for claim construction, rather than the ordinary meaning standard of Phillips that is applied in district courts; and (2) whether the Board’s threshold decision to institute an IPR proceeding is judicially unreviewable.
