Buchanan Ingersoll Adds Lobbyist Paul Quinn to Firm's Federal Government Relations Practice

Washington, DC, March 7, 2005 -- Buchanan Ingersoll has added counsel Paul S. Quinn to its Government Relations Section. Quinn has more than four decades of experience in public policy advocacy, and advises clients on dealing with federal, congressional, Executive Branch and regulatory agencies, with a particular emphasis on appropriations, financial services and tax issues.
Ron Platt, head of Buchanan Ingersoll’s Federal Government Relations Practice notes that Quinn's arrival continues the firm’s plan of expanding that group: “When I joined the firm, we set out to grow the federal practice and continually add professionals with solid experience and relationships in this area. About Quinn
Paul S. Quinn is special counsel to Buchanan Ingersoll PC in the firm's Washington, D.C., office, where he is a member of the firm's Federal Government Relations Practice Group.
Quinn has advised trade associations and other clients in a number of industries, including travel, health care, insurance, data processing, telecommunications and financial services. During his career he has assisted clients that include Fleet Boston Financial Group, Aetna and American Express.
He also has experience in strategic government affairs and business counseling, including the design and implementation of political and legislative strategies and the monitoring of federal and state administrative, legislative, regulatory and political developments. He has organized and coordinated coalition efforts to deal with the legislative and executive branch initiatives, which have included generating grassroots support.
Before joining Buchanan Ingersoll, Quinn was a shareholder in a Washington, D.C.-based firm. He was Rhode Island Democratic Senator Claiborne Pell's first legislative director before entering private practice in 1963. He served as a lieutenant in the United States Army from 1956 to 1958.
Quinn is a member of the District of Columbia Bar and the American Bar Association, where he is a member of the Administrative Law Section. He is also a member of the Barrister's Club.
Quinn received his J.D. degree from the Georgetown University Law Center in 1961. He earned his B.A. degree in 1956 from Providence College. He is admitted to practice in the District of Columbia.
