A recent article in the New York Post discusses US Attorney Preet Bharara’s victory on the conviction of Michael Steinberg, the SAC Capital founder Steve Cohen’s right-hand man. Steinberg’s case was the first one of the SAC employees to go to trial, helping the government move forward by possibly bringing in five other former SAC employees.

The article says that Steinberg’s conviction could put another SAC money manager, Mathew Martoma, in the hot seat. Martoma is claimed to have placed a 20-minute phone call to Cohen after he had received inside information that resulted in over $200 million in profit at SAC.

In regard to Steinberg’s case, shareholder and white-collar defense lawyer Stuart Slotnick said, “[t]he verdict just shows that the US Attorney’s office wins these cases.”
