Michael S. Powers Speaks at MAGI

Michael S. Powers, senior attorney in Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney’s Food and Drug Administration & Pharmaceuticals Section, presented “Into the Abyss: Subject Injury and Indemnification” at MAGI’s Clinical Research Conference – 2014 West, which was held November 9-12, 2014 in San Francisco. Powers discussed subject injury lawsuits and the use of indemnification to minimize risk when claims do occur. He was joined by co-presenters Dianne Archer, Corporate Counsel of Gilead, Inc. and Brad Ellis, Assistant General Counsel at Scripps Health in San Diego.

MAGI has over 10,000 members, including clinical research sponsors, sites and CROs. The organization standardizes best practices for clinical research operations, business and regulatory compliance. The MAGI West conference had over 650 attendees.
