Mary Ann Dunham and Haley R. Ayure Pen Article for ACC-WCFL Chapter Newsletter
Shareholder Mary Ann Dunham and Associate Haley R. Ayure of Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney’s Corporate section wrote an article for the July 21, 2014 issue of the electronic newsletter of the ACC-WCFL Chapter. The article, titled “Closing in an Electronic Age,” describes how important it is to understand when a deal is actually done, which can be hard to determine when the closing is done electronically.
As they explain in their article, “[I]n this age of electronic communications, determining when the parties to a transaction are deemed to have executed a document, including which version of the document is final, may not be clear.” Dunham and Ayure then describe what lawyers should consider when closing a deal electronically to avoid these problems.
