Pittsburgh – October 2, 2014 – Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney announced today that Kyle B. Beall, an environmental lawyer noted in the energy industry for his work on air quality matters, has become affiliated with the firm. In connection with the affiliation, Beall will serve as Of Counsel at Buchanan, and will maintain his own practice in Louisiana.

Beall will work in Buchanan's Energy and Environmental Group to provide counsel on federal and state permitting, compliance and enforcement matters under the EPA's Clean Air Act and its various State programs.

“As midstream infrastructure around shale gas production expands, Kyle’s particular experience in air quality issues deepens the support we can provide to natural gas gathering and production clients,” stated Shawn Gallagher, a Buchanan shareholder who represents E&P and midstream clients in land use and environmental matters.

Co-chair of Buchanan's Environmental practice group, Raj Basi, worked closely with Beall during his tenure with the Williams Companies, Inc., a global energy firm based in Tulsa, Okla. “Each segment of the energy industry value chain intersects with federal and state air quality regulation. Kyle is a solution finder experienced in representing producers, transporters, refiners and power generators in all parts of the country. We are excited to bring his depth of experience to our clients.”

Beall has operated an environmental law practice in Louisiana, home of the Haynesville shale play, the second largest natural gas field in the U.S. and the Henry Hub gas distribution interchange. He was previously a partner at a full service, Louisiana-based law firm. Beall began his career with G&E Engineering, Inc., a full service environmental consulting company.

He earned his law degree from the University of South Carolina and attended his third year at LSU Law Center. He received his Bachelor of Science from Louisiana State University in civil engineering.
