Laura Pitts counsels clients on intellectual property protection and enforcement strategies, manages clients’ global trademark portfolios and executes domestic and international trademark filings. Her experience includes preparing and filing trademark applications; drafting office action responses; and prosecuting and defending opposition and cancellation proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board.
She has prepared trademark clearance opinions, cease and desist letters, coexistence agreements and intellectual property licenses and assignments. Laura also advises clients on domestic and global data protection requirements; conducts data privacy compliance audits and drafts corporate policies relating to data uses, transborder transfers, privacy and security.
Laura has experience preparing and responding to pre-trial, discovery, and dispositive motions in complex intellectual property litigation, including trademark and copyright infringement, counterfeiting and domain name hijacking.
Laura has been honored by Best Lawyers in America© since 2021 in the Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch edition in the areas of Intellectual Property Law and Litigation: Intellectual Property. She also was named among the WTR 1000, a list that recognizes the top trademark professionals around the globe, in 2024.
