At Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney, we're never completely satisfied. We strive to become even better lawyers every day. Professional development is a big deal to us.
Everybody at our firm is expected to continuously improve his or her skills and to maintain a very high standard of quality and service. We invest a lot of time and effort in our training programs, and the result is a professional staff of the highest caliber.
Each group within our firm offers specialized training to its attorneys to help them understand the particular challenges of any given industry. Understanding our clients' needs always comes first. We also offer targeted training to individual lawyers in writing, communication and presentation, practice management, and ethical and professional responsibility. And, because professional development takes many forms, we encourage our attorneys to participate in associations, publish articles, and speak at outside programs.
Continuing Education Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney is an approved in-house provider of Continuing Legal Education, so our attorneys are able to satisfy most of their continuing education requirements without leaving the office. We also have relationships with other CLE providers like the Practicing Law Institute, Cognistar, NITA, and ALI-ABA In-House. We're also an approved provider of continuing education for CPAs and human resources professionals.
Business Development Our Business Development & Marketing department works with our attorneys to teach them how to build relationships with clients.
Evaluations Each year, associates and senior attorneys receive a comprehensive evaluation from their section chairs, who review the attorney's progress, identify areas for improvement, and suggest opportunities for professional development. This candid discussion fosters open communication between section chairs and attorneys and gives everybody a chance to catch up. These evaluations ultimately lead to greater job satisfaction.
Mentoring We sincerely believe in the power of mentoring. Everybody in the firm is encouraged to seek guidance—and to provide it. Our formal Mentoring Program expands every participant's skills, hones their talents, and enhances their lives. Experience is the best teacher, and sharing one's experience with a colleague is an excellent way to build relationships and foster an environment that values learning. We're so passionate about mentoring that we assign mentors to every first-year associate—and some sections have even implemented their own additional mentoring programs.
