Bullying isn't something that people talk about on the playground anymore. It's affecting the workplace more than ever. In Kelly Kolb's recent article, "Bullying in the Workplace: A Staggering Phenomenon," he uncovers how bullying at work is affecting employee health and workplace productivity.

The article, which was published in the Daily Business Review, stresses that employers should be proactive in their approach on the topic, and handle each situation with strength and compassion.

"Since the typical bullying victim is a member of a protected class, workplace bullying can spawn lawsuits for discrimination, retaliation, negligent retention of the bully, assault, battery or intentional infliction of emotional distress," Kolb writes.
