Keith Arnold, senior-principal in Buchanan’s Government Relations section, was quoted in a Miami Today article titled,” Insurance firms don’t profit in popular healthcare exchanges.” Many healthcare facilities, such as Aetna, have decided to cut back on their involvement in the Affordable Care Act (ACA) because of the price concern for their consumers.

“While healthcare exchanges have been hugely popular with consumers, insurance companies are not making money in them,” said Keith Arnold, a senior principal and lobbyist in the Fort Myers office of the Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney law firm. “Subsidies are running out, so the question is, can the free market find a way to encourage more young, healthy people to become insured?” Doing so will stabilize rates and allow the companies to remain profitable, observers say.
