Not many people know that Garey Butler once worked as a tour guide in Yellowstone National Park, where he helped lead visitors toward an understanding and appreciation for one of our most magnificent natural treasures. What his clients do know is that he listens carefully, understands their goals and concerns, and has the experience to guide them through the most intricate real estate and corporate transactions.
How Garey Helps Clients
Garey assists clients in real estate, general corporate and probate matters. In his real estate practice, he represents business and individual clients in all aspects of commercial and residential real estate. He has worked with clients across many industries, such as retail, healthcare, banking, and hospitality. His practice includes advising on the purchase and sale of land and buildings, and other property rights such as easements and restrictive covenants. In addition, he counsels landlords and tenants in commercial lease negotiations.
For Garey Butler’s clients, successful real estate and other business transactions derive from solid strategic thinking and practical know-how.
Garey advises both lenders and borrowers regarding construction and permanent financing arrangements, negotiating restructures of loans, and advising on foreclosure actions. As an authorized title agent, Garey works with Old Republic National Title Insurance Company, Chicago Title Insurance Company, Fidelity National Title Insurance Company, and Commonwealth Land Title Insurance Company.
What Clients Can Expect
To assist with matters related to probate, Garey guides clients through the Florida probate process to ensure proper distribution and clearing of title for real estate and other assets. And he helps agricultural land owners preserve valuable agricultural tax exemptions.
In his corporate practice, Garey enjoys helping individuals beginning small businesses as much as helping large national franchise systems. His work in this arena includes entity choice and formation, as well as general counsel for ongoing operations.
It is no surprise that Garey has achieved an AV Preeminent distinction, the highest available mark for professional excellence from Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Ratings. And since 2011, he has been selected by his peers for inclusion in the real estate category of Best Lawyers in America®.
