MIAMI - June 9, 2015 - Buchanan Ingersoll Rooney PC announced today that Shareholder Matthew J. Feeley was awarded Board Certification in International Law by The Florida Bar. Feeley joins an elite group of only 47 Florida attorneys who have earned board certification in international law.

Board Certification is the highest level of evaluation by The Florida Bar of competency and experience within an area of law, and professionalism and ethics in practice. Only certified attorneys are allowed to identify themselves as legal “specialists” or “experts” in their specific field of practice.

Feeley focuses his practice on commercial litigation, at both the trial and appellate levels, and the U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA). He has represented major foreign business entities and individuals in complex litigation, including commercial real estate disputes, trade secret and trademark disputes, contract disputes, securities law violations and defamation.

Throughout the course of his career, Feeley has argued before the Florida District Court of Appeals and before the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. In addition, he designed and implemented compliance programs, conducted due diligence reviews and interfaced with governmental authorities regarding potential FCPA violations. He has also spearheaded numerous internal investigations over potential FCPA violations.

His legal affiliations include: the Litigation Committee, Anti-Corruption Committee for the International Bar Association; the Committee on Professionalism, Florida Bar; and International Law Section, Florida Bar.

Feeley received his B.A. from Dartmouth College and his J.D. from Boston College Law School.
