Bill Thomas, a senior advisor to Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney's Federal Government Relations Section, will deliver the keynote address at AEI's "Progressive Consumption Taxation: Can It Be Done? Should It Be Done?" The American Enterprise Institute (AEI) is a nonpartisan research institution whose purpose is to defend and improve the institutions of American freedom and democratic capitalism.

Thomas, former House Ways and Means Committee chairman, will speak on the implications and political prospects of progressive consumption tax proposals.

Panelists at the conference, cosponsored by the Tax Foundation, will explore whether progressive consumption taxation can and should be done.
