How David Helps Clients

David Gordon defends and protects medical practitioners, facilities and affiliated corporate entities in claims related to professional and general liability, as well as catastrophic personal injury and death cases. He also provides guidance on governmental investigations. David's focus includes not-for-profit and for-profit entities in the senior care space, including skilled nursing, sub-acute rehab, and assisted living facilities, as well as continuing care retirement communities, hospitals, home health providers, day care centers and urgent care centers.  His representation commonly includes protecting physicians, medical directors, nurses, administrators, midwives, social workers, dietitians and aides.

With his 30-plus years of experience, David is a trusted adviser who offers a full-service practice to protect companies and their employees in corporate negligence matters. He provides soup‑to‑nuts service to his clients from the initiation of a claim and pre-suit investigation, to complete litigation services from pleadings, discovery, and motions to trial defense. His priority is to provide a zealous and aggressive defense with the intent of minimizing the risk and controlling the legal spend. David has secured many favorable results for his clients in mediation, arbitration and trial.

He has extensive experience in state and federal courts in New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Delaware, in addition to other venues and jurisdictions. David was the first attorney to successfully compel arbitration in the State of New Jersey in a long-term care matter.

David also serves as a mediator for disputes. In this role, he leverages his years of litigation experience to assist opposing parties in communicating effectively and guides them toward their own successful resolution.

David serves as co-chair of the firm's Litigation Section, co-chair of the Healthcare Litigation practice group and head of Buchanan's Princeton office. He is a frequent lecturer for the New Jersey Institute of Continuing Legal Education on topics related to long-term care litigation.
