Philadelphia – October 1, 2013 – Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney announced today that Elisa Basnight was nominated to be Director of the Center for Women Veterans at the United States Department of Veterans Affairs and approved by the White House as a Presidential appointee. In this role, Basnight will serve as the principal adviser to the Secretary of Veterans Affairs on the adoption and implementation of policy and programs affecting women veterans.

As corporate commercial counsel, Basnight focused her practice in the areas of general corporate, commercial contracts, small, minority, women and veteran-owned businesses, technology and government affairs. She served on the firm’s Recruiting, Strategic Planning and Diversity Committees.
