In the span of 48 hours, Facebook majority shareholder Mark Zuckerberg oversaw his company’s $104 billion initial public offering and got married. But while the Internet mogul’s worth is tracked in real time, there is still some doubt as to how much of his assets, if any, may belong to his wife.

As Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney Litigation shareholder Barry I. Slotnick explained to CNN Money, prenuptial agreements are particularly useful in an economically stratified marriage where one party grossly out-earns the other.

Legally binding and drawn up by counsel, the agreements protect each party’s individual assets and stipulate support obligations should the marriage end. It is not known if Zuckerberg signed a prenuptial agreement.

The article noted that Slotnick – who has counseled a number of high-profile clients through marital disputes – represented Melania Trump in her premarital agreement with Donald Trump.
