Philadelphia, PA, April 17, 2009 — William W. Uchimoto, a shareholder in the Corporate Finance & Technology Section and chair of the China Practice Group at Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney's Philadelphia office, was recently named to The Legal Intelligencer's "Diversity Attorneys of the Year" 2009 list. The list was published in the paper's April 20, 2009, edition.

According the Legal's editors — who made the selections, "Our goal in picking 'Diversity Attorneys of the Year' was to recognize those lawyers who made significant contributions to the practice of law between our last Diversity supplement in 2007 and this year. … The criteria was relatively broad, and yet simple: finding attorneys who had a major impact, whether it was winning a big court decision, a large verdict, achieving a leadership position at a firm or in the bar, bringing in a significant piece of business to a firm, closing a major deal, or having a major public policy impact. … We looked for attorneys all across Pennsylvania, no matter their practice area, size of firm, or whether they came from the private, government or public interest sector. All we were interested in was excellence."
