WASHINGTON, D.C. – November 14, 2016 – Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney announces that Amy Miller has joined the firm’s litigation section in Washington, D.C. as a shareholder. Miller, who will oversee the firm’s litigation team in the region, focuses her practice on high stakes business litigation, business torts, contractual disputes and appeals.

“Amy is an absolutely wonderful addition to our D.C. office, and to the firm’s litigation section. We are delighted to add Amy’s expertise and track record of success to our already talented bench,” said Jacqui Fiske Lazo, shareholder and co-head of the Washington, D.C. office.

Prior to joining Buchanan, Miller was a partner at McGuire Woods LLP, where she defended numerous complex and class action lawsuits on behalf of large financial institutions and major corporations. She also led appellate teams in high profile appeals across the country. As both a litigator and counselor, Miller partners with her clients to resolve problems before they escalate into formal disputes. When problems evolve into lawsuits, she is a strong and effective courtroom advocate. While Miller currently focuses on commercial litigation and appeals, she began her legal career in employment counseling and litigation, and still maintains an active employment law practice.

Miller is admitted to the bars of Maryland, Virginia, Washington, D.C., and Georgia. She is also admitted to several United States district and circuit courts of appeal, as well as the United States Supreme Court.
