February 21, 2013 – PITTSBURGH, Pa. – Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney PC announced today that Associate Mariah L. Passarelli was elected Co-President of the Women’s Bar Association of Western Pennsylvania.

This year marks the 25th anniversary of the Women’s Bar Association of Western Pennsylvania. Originally formed in 1988, the WBA works to promote opportunities for women in the legal profession, encourage women to seek judicial roles through appointments and election, and to end gender and racial bias in the courts.

Passarelli is a member of Buchanan’s Labor & Employment Section, where she handles matters ranging from employment contracts and handbooks to collective actions and complex litigation. She is also a member of the firm’s Nontraditional Couples & Practices group, and in 2011 was named one of the “40 Under 40 Most Influential Members of the GLBT Community” by The Advocate magazine.
