Philadelphia, PA, July 16, 2012 – Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney PC announced today the addition of Andrew J. Rolfes as counsel in the Labor and Employment Section. Previously with Cozen O’Connor, Rolfes will use his extensive federal and state court litigation experience to represent management clients in a wide variety of labor and employment matters. He will be based in the firm’s Philadelphia office.

“Andy has experience in every facet of labor-management relations matters and his expertise will allow us to provide even more value for our clients,” said Joseph Dougherty, co-managing shareholder of the firm’s Philadelphia office. “He has gained the respect and admiration from his peers as a leader in labor and employment and will be a valuable asset here at Buchanan.”

In addition to his litigation experience, Rolfes’ traditional labor law experience includes the negotiation of collective bargaining agreements, including interest arbitrations for police and fire personnel; grievance arbitration; unfair labor practice proceedings; unit clarification petitions; and union representation elections. He has also counseled clients on compliance and represented clients in litigation involving claims for pension contributions under ERISA and withdrawal liability under the MPPAA.

Rolfes has been honored by his peers as a Pennsylvania Super Lawyer®. He is a graduate of Georgetown University Law Center and holds a B.A. from Pace University.
