PITTSBURGH – July 11, 2016 – Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney announces the addition of Michelle R. Yarbrough Korb as counsel to its real estate section in the firm’s Pittsburgh office. Yarbrough Korb joins Buchanan from Pepper Hamilton LLP.

Yarbrough Korb focuses her practice in the affordable housing industry, with an emphasis on development, including the utilization of low-income housing tax credits (LIHTCs), federal programs, including those of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s (HUD). She also handles matters related to programs offered by individual states and the Federal Home Loan Banks’ Affordable Housing Program (AHP).

“Michelle has a sophisticated skill set in affordable housing development and we’re pleased to welcome her to the firm,” noted Lafe Metz, chair of Buchanan’s real estate section. “Affordable housing presents a social challenge that Mayor Peduto here in Pittsburgh and elected officials in other major cities are rising to meet. Given Michelle’s extensive experience with low-income housing tax credits, Buchanan is well-positioned to guide our clients in helping to address the affordable housing shortage.”

Yarbrough Korb is a member of the National Association of Housing and Redevelopment Officials and serves on its National Housing Committee. She is also a member of the Allegheny County Bar Association Real Property Section; the American Bar Association Forum on Affordable Housing and Community Development Law; and Women in Housing and Finance. She holds a B.S. from the University of Notre Dame and a J.D. from the University of Pittsburgh School Of Law.
