On October 2, Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney’s Karen O. Moury participated as a panelist at the Retail Energy Supply Association’s Energy Symposium. The panel Moury participated in was titled “Enhancements to the Customer Shopping Experience” and focused on customers choosing who supplies their electricity and natural gas. Specifically, Moury covered Pennsylvania’s efforts to improve the quality of the information that is provided to customers before they choose and to provide a mechanism that allows customers to select a supplier when they are in a public venue (malls, community events, etc.) and do not have their account numbers handy. The idea is to get away from door-to-door marketing and telemarketing, which can be frustrating to customers.
